Chinese Tech Company Takes Over Old Anheuser-Busch Facility In Oakland
An Oakland property that used to house an Anheuser-Busch distribution facility has a new tenant, following the brewer’s sale of the location and subsequent layoffs earlier this year.
Lansum International, a technology consultant based out of Shanghai, will occupy the 155K SF facility at 8380 Pardee Drive, according to a press release from CBRE.
Bob Ferraro and Michael Barry, both members of CBRE’s Industrial and Logistics team, along with Kurt Mrazik from CBRE’s Pittsburgh office, represented Anheuser-Busch in the transaction, while Colliers represented Lansum, according to the release.
“We’ve been experiencing record high activity in the Oakland/East Bay industrial market the last two years," Ferraro said in the release. "Macroeconomic conditions have slowed activity slightly, but we are still experiencing activity above pre-pandemic levels. Class-A space of this size is hard to find in the East Bay and with 1.5M SF of new product expected to deliver next year, several tenants have pre-leased space as availability remains below 5%.”
Oakland has experienced intense industrial demand in recent months, with the Port of Oakland being a prime slab of real estate for industrial developers and investors. CBRE noted that the Oakland/East Bay industrial market saw a 2.8% vacancy rate in Q3 of this year.
