806-Foot Tower To Rise At Transbay Terminal
An 806-foot-tall tower at 546 Howard St will join the likes of 181 Fremont St and Salesforce Tower rising around the Transbay Terminal redevelopment project. Designs of the 64-floor high-rise are being refined by Pelli Clarke Pelli for the almost 1M SF project to include a more rounded structure, reports SocketSite.
The tower planned for Transbay Parcel F will include 200 condos throughout the top 27 floors, 16 floors (287k SF) of office space and a 250-room hotel on the lower levels.
The lowest levels will include retail space and the fifth floor will offer a pedestrian bridge connecting the tower to the park to be built over the temporary Transbay Transit Center. The tower may also take the silver medal as the second-tallest residential tower in the city after the proposed 910-foot tower at 50 First St. [SS]
