Equity Residential Signs Inaugural Retail Tenants At Potrero 1010
Equity Residential has started signing long-term leases with retail tenants for the Potrero 1010 apartment community. California College of Arts (CCA) and The Boba Guys will occupy nearly 7k SF at the complex.
The company’s first VP of development Jim Kelly says the marketing and sales success is due to the project’s “high-demand location” on the perimeter of Daggett Park—a one-acre green space that will be turned over to the city upon completion. The building has 453 apartments, 6k SF of PDR space and 20k SF set aside for retail.
CCA will use the PDR space. The art school will use some of this space for a gallery that will display student work and host events. School director of planning David Meckel says a gallery will add to the city’s art culture. “The new gallery space will give the public access to the boundless creativity of our students and faculty."
The property will host an 840 SF milk tea shop called The Boba Guys catering to students and faculty.
When finished, Potrero 1010 will be one of three projects Equity Residential is constructing to form the Showplace Square district. One Henry Adams will be completed in late 2016, and 855 Brannan will open in 2017.
