Oakland's Webster Street Undergoing Massive Transformation

Placeholder

Oakland's Webster Street will soon look much different. Holland Partner Group plans to develop a mixed-use site with 250 housing units, 5K SF of office and 2,100 SF of ground-floor retail along Webster Street. The 25-story building planned at 1721 Webster would be between 17th and 19th streets, according to design documents submitted to Oakland.

The project would include parking in the basement and five levels above grade. Residential units would span floors six to 24 with amenities on the top floor. Units will be a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units, and amenities will include a club room, an outdoor pool and a rooftop terrace. Bike parking also will be available.

The new building would be across the street from a recently approved 250-foot-tall, 206-unit residential development at 1700 Webster St. from Gerling Edlen and a seven-story mixed-use project at 1750 Webster St.

The site contains a two-story brick commercial building, which would be razed to make way for the new 270-foot tower. The building is designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz.
