Uber And Maximus Tie Up To Offer Parkmerced Residents $100 Credit

Maximus and Uber have announced a special $100/month subsidy for residents of the Parkmerced apartment complex. The companies hope the program will contribute to a “car-free” lifestyle.

The program offers new residents of the apartments a $100 credit to be used either for Uber or city public transit, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The exclusive partnership with Uber will be followed by a deal with Clipper. It reflects a growing trend of offering carsharing to residents, even at luxury apartments.

Parkmerced’s proximity to San Francisco State University offers Uber a chance to shape the transit habits of young adults. Once they enter the workforce the hope is they continue their Uber habit. [SFC]
