Affordable Living In Silicon Valley Does Exist
Housing Trust Silicon Valley, which creates affordable places to live in one of the priciest housing markets in the US, welcomed 400 attendees yesterday at the Santa Clara Convention Center for its annual investor briefing. HTSV CEO Kevin Zwick noted its Finally Home program has helped 620 people out of homelessness in the past year and 93% of those people have stayed housed. And 80% of the money under its Affordable Housing Growth Fund has been green lighted or is in the process of being approved and has helped fund 711 housing units. Some 18,000 individuals have been helped by HTSV since its inception in 2000, he says, with $33M funded toward the creation of over 4,025 affordable rental homes.
