Vida!
We stopped by the brand new sales office for Vida, the 114-unit condo project coming to 22nd and Mission. We hear the eight-story complex is already getting filled up, even though the sales office doesn't officially open until this weekend. (It's a phantom sales office! Run!) At last weekend's soft opening, friends and family of Oyster Development were able to get first pick of 26 units scattered from the second to the seventh floor (the top penthouses are on hold). At the event, a whopping 20 of those units sold, even though the project doesn't deliver until early 2015. (We have officially reached NYC status.)
We met sales associate Loring Racine of Polaris Pacific, whose firm is tapped to sell out the project. She did just that at another of Oyster's projects, Marlow in Nob Hill. Since Vida is well into construction mode, tenants can't walk the space yet. But they can browse this state-of-the art touch screen, viewing different floor plans and views from their potential unit. (As the block's tallest building, Vida boasts vistas from Bernal Heights to Twin Peaks to downtown.)
The converted movie theater has long sat vacant, but various nearby restaurants have popped up in the mean time (El Techo's roof is full of hipsters and heat lamps any night of the week). Vida will get its own seventh floor roof deck with a BBQ and built-in dining table. The sales office includes a model of a unit. Among the features? Exposed concrete ceilings and columns, Bosch and Bertazzoni appliances, quartz countertops, and porcelain tile in the bathroom.
