Essex Property Trust Proposes High-Density Residential Tower In Oakland
Essex Property Trust and Swenson Builders have plans to build a 294-unit residential tower near Jack London Square and Lake Merritt BART in Oakland. This 16-story tower would become Essex’s third residential tower in Oakland, the San Francisco Business Times reports.
Essex is under contract to purchase the land at 412 Madison St. from a metal recycling company. The recycling center will be demolished to make way for the new tower, which will include 171 parking spots and a dog park. Swenson will design the building and act as general contractor.
Essex also owns 100 Grand and The Landing at 101 Embarcadero West at Jack London Square in Oakland.
