Sares Regis Breaks Ground On Latest South San Francisco Multifamily Project
South San Francisco’s latest multifamily development is underway. Sares Regis Group of Northern California broke ground on its Cadence apartment community on May 18. The 225K SF five-story project on Cypress Avenue will provide 260 apartments and two levels of parking. Amenities include a rooftop lounge, a fitness center, clubrooms and landscaped courtyards.
“Housing is one of our top priorities in South San Francisco, and this is a key project that begins to meet our housing needs,” South San Francisco city manager Mike Futrell said. “Cadence’s close location to both Caltrain and Grand Avenue will help support a vibrant, successful downtown.”
SRGNC also contributed $5.7M toward improvements to community parks, pedestrian connections, water lines, storm drains and public art. Streetscape improvements on Miller and Cyprus avenues and Airport Boulevard include enhanced sidewalks, furniture, street trees, lighting and bike improvements.
Cadence is expected to be ready for occupancy fall in 2018. TCA Architects founder and CEO Thomas Cox designed the project to be LEED Silver. Others involved with the project include PNC Realty Investors, Devcon Construction, Wilsey Ham, The Guzzardo Partnership, CDC Designs and Nishkian Menninger.
