Mission District Apartments Being Reworked
Nick Podell Development has decided to change its plans for a proposed 276-unit apartment project in the Mission District. Initial plans for the project had received resistance from members of the community, as the developer planned to demolish a large warehouse for artists, a café and a few rent-controlled units. The developer was also looking to build only the minimum required number of affordable units on site. The new plans may include an increase in space reserved for artists and manufacturers and offer more units for low-income residents. The project, located at 2000-2700 Bryant, faced possible rejection by the planning commission this month. [SFBT]
