SF Considering Height Increase For Tishman Speyer's Transbay Tower

Placeholder

An amendment up for adoption for San Francisco's Transbay Redevelopment Plan could increase the height limit for Transbay Block 1, which would allow the 400-foot twisty tower proposed by Tishman Speyer to move forward.

The block is zoned for development up to 300 feet, but Tishman Speyer's proposed tower at the corner of Folsom and Spear would exceed that by 100 feet and include 399 condos. There is anticipated opposition to the height increase.

The first hearing for the proposed amendment will be held Jan. 19, according to SocketSite. If the city's Commission on Community Investment and Infrastructure approves the amendment, it will move on to the planning commission and board of supervisors. [SS]
