S.F. Prices Soar, Foreclosures Follow
As Bay Area pricing soars, there may be some cheap properties coming to market. There are currently 665 properties in some stage of foreclosure (default, auction or bank owned) in S.F., according to a new RealtyTrac report. According to the report, which includes single-family and condos, the number of properties that received a foreclosure filing in March was 36% higher than February and 900% higher than the same time last year. The median sales price of a non-distressed home was $1,050,000. The median sales price of a foreclosure home was $795,000, or 24% lower than non-distressed home sales.
