CREW Talks Future of S.F.
CREW SF threw a "Futuristic Think Tank” yesterday at The City Club, and leaders from SPUR, the Bay Area Council, the San Francisco County Transportation Authority and the Harvard Program on International Financial Systems weighed in on the once and future S.F. Topics discussed included the fragile future of BART, potential terrorism attacks and whether Oakland will ever match up with S.F.
SPUR CEO Gabe Metcalf posed an interesting conundrum: Why is San Francisco so expensive these days? One reason is the US loves living in cities again, particularly this one. In the future, even a millionaire might not make enough to be in the city (gulp). Here's CREW-SF Committee members Debbie Leifer and Maureen Futtner with Gabe.
