LinkedIn Gets Growing In The City
LinkedIn is sending out a request to find a mammoth-sized amount of space in the city, expanding its original requirement by a lot. (So large spaces should all update their resumes.)
The Mountain View-based networking giant already sits on several full floors totaling about 135k SF at One Montgomery Tower in the Financial District. We are hearing from sources it's looking for a couple extra thousand square feet of space in the city, copying other Silicon Valley companies like Google who want to please young workforces with urban offices. In January the job search company was pursuing a monster lease at 235 2nd--backfilling space CBS was going to vacate--but that deal fizzled once CBS pulled out of 505 Howard. It's unclear when the space is needed by, but at year's end there were just nine blocks more than 100k SF in size in S.F. LinkedIn's broker Colliers didn't respond to a request for comment.
