After More Than 125 Years, Del Monte is Leaving S.F.
Take a bite out of this Friday news: The food juggernaut is moving its HQ from S.F. to Walnut Creek. It's a historic move, considering the company's been based in the city since its founding in 1886. Some 90 employees in marketing, finance and supply chain functions will move to 3003 Oak Road, an office building near the Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre BART station, reports the Contra Costa Times.
The employees moving will join 80 Del Monte workers who moved last year to the building in the Contra Costa Centre transit village. Bisnow was the first to report about that 27k SF lease (here's Transwestern broker Ed Del Beccaro). Del Monte also has a research facility in the Shadelands business park in Walnut Creek. [CCT]
