Buildings Get More Wired In The City
For an office building that counts Google as a tenant, like One Market (above), it's important to have a good Internet connection. S.F. is the latest expansion city for WiredScore, a standardized rating system designed to identify, evaluate and certify commercial buildings with super-fast Internet connections. Similar in concept to LEED stamps, WiredScore evaluates a building’s connectivity by examining the number and quality of Internet service providers as well as the bandwidth capabilities and reliability of connections. There are currently 11 local buildings with the Wired Certified status, including 50 Beale, One Market and Airbnb's HQ at 888 Brannan. The service is also in New York, Boston, Chicago and DC.
