Office Space Startup CANOPY Set To Launch In Pac Heights
Yves Behar, Amir Mortazavi and Steve Mohebi want to create well-designed workplaces in the heart of neighborhoods where people live. That dream is closer to reality as the trio’s passion project, CANOPY, gets closer to its September launch at 2193 Fillmore St. It will be the first location in the country.
The company founders aim to create a purely work-focused location near residential areas. Co-founder Yves Behar says the emphasis is on creating places with no distractions. “Rather than focusing on fun and entertainment, CANOPY will provide a striking workspace that balances open plan and private spaces. There are no foosball tables here,” he says.
That is not to say the features or amenities will be stark. Members can enjoy conference rooms, private phone booths and 24-hour access. Though workers won’t have foosball, they will have the option of choosing from a fully stocked kitchen.
Members can pay from $650/month for a shared table to $4k/month for a private office.
Silicon Valley companies and creative office experts predict cutting down on commute times is absolutely essential for enhancing worker productivity. Convenient location trumps any frills, they said.
