Port Of Oakland Pulls In Big Ranking
The Port of Oakland just came in at No. 5 on the list of top 15 North American ports, according to the inaugural edition of CBRE's “North America Ports Logistics Annual Report.” Oakland is one of four US West Coast ports in the top 15, loading and discharging more than 99% of containerized goods moving through Northern California. The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach still topped the report’s first-ever “Ports and Logistics Index.” The redevelopment of the former Oakland Army base also positions Oakland well—bringing in a new rail yard, marine terminal and more than 1M SF of industrial warehouse space.
