The McClintock Building Gets a Facelift
Let's celebrate the renovation and renewal of The McClintock Building at the crossroads of S.F.’s SoMa, Potrero Hill, Mission Bay and Mission districts. This historic building is being transformed into a contemporary structure for light industrial, manufacturing and office space to accommodate 21st century companies, after serving as the headquarters for clothing designer Jessica McClintock for the past 40 years. Open concept floor plans and naturally lit spaces will pay homage to the 1938 art-deco style of the original building (rendering above).
Above, this morning's construction kickoff. The 103k SF light industrial/office building at 1400 16th is being renovated by owners SKS Partners, ProspectHill Group and ASB. Architects Pfau Long Architects will provide a modernized design that will incorporate a seismic update, all new building systems, a central atrium with an operable “greenhouse” roof and a roof deck with panoramic views. The central atrium, called The Commons, will include natural light from the operable greenhouse roof above and reclaimed wood paneled walls. It's scheduled to open this summer.
