Waterfront Tower Developer Eyes Tenderloin
To calm the political waters related to building a tall residential tower near the waterfront, Paramount Group plans to contribute some dough toward an affordable housing project in the Tenderloin, the San Francisco Business Times reports. NYC's Paramount, which is renovating its iconic One Market (above) property, is waiting for the green light to erect a controversial 25-story residential tower at 75 Howard and is in discussions with nonprofit housing developer Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corp. to also build at least 100 affordable units at the corner of Eddy and Taylor. That project would also include a ground-floor grocery store, an amenity that area of the city is hungry for.
