New East Bay Retail Centers Add More Tenants
Two of the East Bay’s newest retail centers are leasing up space quickly. Sunset Development’s City Center Bishop Ranch has added several tenants to the under-construction 300K SF center. It previously secured anchor tenant THE LOT, a 10-screen luxury movie theater. CenterCal’s The Veranda, which held its grand opening in early December, began opening stores during the fourth quarter.
At City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon, Equinox leased 30K SF and will become the second anchor. It will operate as Equinox San Ramon and offer a panoramic yoga studio with outdoor yoga space, an outdoor pool with a lounge deck, floor-to-ceiling windows and 8K SF of strength and cardio equipment. The site will include a spa, a café, child care and an apparel shop.
Dining options for the center will include Boba Guys, Fieldwork Brewing Co., Ramen Hiroshi and Roam Artisan Burgers. Fashion and lifestyle brands coming to the center will include M, a new store from supermodel Maggie Rizer; Alys Grace; Williams Sonoma;Pottery Barn; and West Elm.
The Renzo Piano Building Workshop-designed center is expected to open in the fall. San Francisco-based BAR Architects is the architect of record.
Future tenants at The Veranda in Concord will include City Sports, EMC Seafood & Raw Bar, Mikuni, Popbar, Puesto, Residual Sugar Wine Bar & Merchant, Sutter Health and Super Duper Burgers. The center’s current tenants include Luxe Cinema, Whole Foods 365, T.J. Maxx, Toys R Us/Babies R Us, Cost Plus World Market, LunchboxWax, Sleep Number and AAA.
