Santa Clara Square Marketplace Welcomes Seven New Stores
Irvine Co has signed seven new stores at Santa Clara Square Marketplace as the center gets ready to open in late 2016. These shopping, dining and fitness options join Whole Foods (scheduled to open earlier in the summer).
Irvine Co Retail Properties president Dave Moore says the addition of the new stores would “make Santa Clara Square Marketplace a great destination.”
Some of the stores will offer ethnic dining such as the Greek restaurant Opa! There are also tea shops, such as COMEBUY Drinks, a bookstore (Books Inc) and yoga studio (CorePower Yoga).
The clustering of various types of stores is what CenterCal CEO Fred Bruning calls placemaking. The aim is to give customers multiple reasons to come and hang out at the property, he said.
