Google is planning to attract young startups with 14k SF at 301 Howard St set to open in September.

The software giant plans to launch an accelerator program serving entrepreneurs from the developing world such as Indonesia, Mexico, India and Brazil, according to the San Francisco Business Times. The three-month program immerses the techies in the Bay Area tech ecosystem.

The move is seen as a response to similar programs launched by Amazon and Microsoft in San Francisco.

Tech companies are increasingly locating operations in urban cores such as S.F. and San Jose as younger workers tend to gravitate toward cities. [SFBT]
