Real Estate & Tech: Aquicore Strives To Improve Energy Efficiency

Placeholder

Established: 2013

Base of Operations: Washington, DC

Who’s in Charge: CEO and founder Logan Soya

What It Is: Software platform to improve energy efficiency in commercial real estate

When Aquicore CEO Logan Soya realized 30% of the energy used to power buildings was wasted, he set out to fix the situation. His company provides software that collects real-time information on energy usage including electricity, water and gas, which is sent to a web platform. Within the first 60 days of operation, companies see up to 24% energy savings, according to Aquicore.

The company provides physical sensors to collect data, providing a single platform for facility operations, public displays, budgeting and tenant billing, Logan previously told Bisnow. Among its clients are Lincoln Property, Under Armour, Vornado, Splunk and Cushman & Wakefield.

Aquicore, which Bisnow previously rated as a fastest-growing company, raised $5M in Series A funding led by Kiddar Capital and joined by Silicon Valley-based Navitas Capital this past summer. Incubator 1776 also provided $3.1M in seed funding last year. Aquicore opened a San Francisco office at the start of this year and is up to about 40 employees.
