A Man, a Plan, a... Chopper?
It’s Seattle real estate exec meets History Channel meets crazy custom motorcycle. The History Channel’s Counting Cars, which follows the restoration of classic cars and cycles at Count's Kustoms in Vegas, featured Gibraltar principal John Slonecker last week. John pitched the idea of building a Harley-Davidson FXR for him, a replica of the chopper that appeared in the movie Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man.
“The whole process only took a few months,” John tells us. “They jumped at the chance to do it.” John was inspired to build the cycle after the tragic passing of a great friend, Gabriel Pigotti, in a car accident in 2012. Gabriel was a partner at Gibraltar and also the brother of Gibraltar founder Gerry Pigotti. John called him the kind of guy who inspired others to live their lives fully, as he did. When John can get time away from doing deals, he’s going to hit the open road on his new-yet-classic machine.
