AUCTION FEVER
April 12, 2012
The trendy Albers Mill Lofts on the Tacoma waterfront will be auctioned off Friday after defaulting on its loan. The former cereal mill, located right next to the Tacoma Museum of Glass, underwent an extensive remodel in 2004 by Anchorage-based Heritage Properties and Grace Pleasants. The building has 36 apartments as well as commercial space. |
Anybody want to buy this slightly used building? How about its debt? The $20.5M note on the distinctive PacMed Building perched atop Beacon Hill may go up for online auction next week. Bids on what remains of developer Wright Runstad's $23M loan (defaulted on last summer) will begin at $2M on Auction.com April 16, per The Seattle Times. The building has lived numerous lives since being constructed in 1932, including being a Marine hospital and Amazon's HQ during the company's pre-South Lake days. (Sounds like a plum role if somebody wants to play the building in a movie.) |
