Big(ger) Things Sprouting Downtown
May 15, 2012
Looks like Aspira's run as Seattle's highest apartment tower is going to be short-lived. The tall drink of water above is what Holland Development is about to begin work on: a 40-story apartment project at Ninth Avenue and Pine Street that will dwarf (OK, not dwarf, but shadow) Aspira. More good news for Holland, which bought the project from Security Properties earlier this year: there's no shortage of demand—we wrote last week that Aspira was nearly 100% leased, and Amazon continues to hire, feeding an apartment frenzy quite unlike anything downtown has seen before. (Though thanks to the above story, we're now holding out for free boat rental when we sign a lease.) |
