From Russia With Love
Among the fascinating people we met at the DCI Engineers Open House the other week was Matt Laase, who spent 3.5 years in Russia designing IKEA's mega-shopping complexes. Now back in Seattle, Matt has launched his own firm, Studio12s, doing design, business management and consulting in the development arena. His timing is fortuitous--"I think things are really looking up," he tells us. "2012 is done. Let's get going." We asked what the 's' in Studio12s stood for--Siberia, maybe? Actually, says Matt, it's "sandwich."
Tolls on I-90? Really? We might have to start swimming across the lake to get to Bel-Square. Blythe.lawrence@bisnow.com.
