Going Up at Greyhound
May 10, 2012
Every Greyhound bus station probably wants to grow up to become a high-rise hotel/office building, and it looks like that actually may happen on 9th and Stewart if R.C. Hedreen has a say. Hedreen owns the bus station and most of the land around it, and there's been speculation buzzing for months that a superhotel was on its way up and Greyhound on its way out. Why there? "It really is the connective tissue between South Lake Union and Seattle," Hedreen prez David Theyer told The Seattle Times. (Anatomy 101: Tacoma is the feet, Redmond the brain, Fremont the center of the solar plexus.) Completion is likely about three years away. |
