HE DREAMS IN EXCEL
February 21, 2012
We're hooked on the new Manhattan Drugs steakhouse on Capitol Hill, where we met economist extraordinaire Matthew Gardner of Gardner Economics and his wife Marcy Salo, of Cairncross & Hempelmann. Manhattan Drugs (next to Ferrari and Maserati of Seattle) has been open for dinner less than a month, but it's already attracted high-profile clientele: Bill Gates was spotted there recently. (No word on what he ordered, but we bet it was delicious and did not have a single apple in it). Matthew, who grew up in London and learned the finer points of his craft at Oxford, will be a keynote at our Future of Downtown Seattle event tomorrow at the W Hotel. (If you're a sucker for an English accent, register here.) He's optimistic about the Seattle market. "There's an awful lot of interest from institutional investors, many of them on the East Coast," he says. |
