Men About Town
Wherever we go these days, we almost always run into RGA Environmental regional business development manager Jerry McCaslin, snapped here at a CREW luncheon at the Washington Athletic Club. Jerry's a busy man, traveling around the Pacific Northwest doing environmental assessment work. Hot and not in his world? He's seen a lot of hospitality work come his way, while indoor air quality and mold has dropped off considerably. "We were doing a couple million dollars of that, and now we're doing a couple hundred thousand per year," he tells us. (Can mold even grow when it's 28 degrees outside?)
Another familiar face, Paladino & Co's Patrick Leonard, tells us Seattle City Light has been seeking three commercial office buildings to participate in at three-year pilot program to test out what City Light calls "pay for performance." How does it work? The utility pays the user for demonstrating incremental energy savings. In other words, "you can potentially make money by proving you're saving money," Patrick tells us.
