More Data On Data Centers
Ferguson's Tom Whiteman, Clise Development's Ben Barron and Scott Bastiani of Lydig Construction at the Seattle Art Museum.
So much data, so little time. Here's Ferguson Construction's Tom Whiteman with Clise Development VP Ben Barron and Scott Bastiani of Lydig Construction at Bisnow's Data Centers Summit at SAM the other week. Ben tells us Clise has a 50k SF data center under way at 2020 5th Ave, adding to the 300k SF of data center space it already has in Seattle. Data centers are everywhere: Ben tells us that downtown there's even one disguised as the Westin Building.
Eric Oehling of Lydig Construction and Ross Wildman of BnBuilders at the Seattle Art Museum.
Lydig project manager Eric Oehling, here with BNBuilders's Ross Wildman, is leading a busy life: In addition to working with Clise on the 5th Avenue project, Lydig's working with King County on the Bow Lake transfer station, a high school for the Snohomish School District and a detention facility in LA. (The last two are different things, no matter what your teenager says.) "We're seeing a lot more requests for proposals on ground-up projects," Eric tells us. As the market thaws, the number of competitors is actually decreasing: "Instead of 10 or 12, you have four or five general contractors competing. There are more projects, so it's spreading the wealth."
