Turkey vs. CRE

Turkey vs. CRE
A turkey and a city...
Continuing a tradition as strong as your grandpa?s spiked eggnog, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank market analytics national director Bob Bach once again compares the cost of a holiday meal to the economy?s performance. The good news: Your feast is up just a modest 0.6% from last year, averaging $49.48 to feed 10 people. Bob says since 2000, the cost of a turkey dinner has risen 53%. But from 2000 to Q3 ?12, the NCREIF Property Index gained 159%, trouncing measurements from the Moody?s/RCA Commercial Property Price Index (which measured CPI up 34% and CRE prices up 43%), as well as the turkey and trimmings. For that, he's grateful.
Taralee Muhli of Wells Fargo and CSSI's Jonathan Frizzell at the Seattle Yacht Club.
For those with Thanksgiving on the brain, here's SBA loan expert Taralee Muhli of Wells Fargo, whom we snapped with CSSI's Jonathan Frizzell at a recent CCIM grathering. We give props to Taralee for having the best motto in the business, which is especially applicable this time of year: "Nobody does it like Taralee." (We've been waiting for a chance to use that line.)
Crissi Lanier, Andrea Beard and Keith Whaley at GreenBuild in San Francisco.
We'd heard BNBuilders was a fun place to work, and here's proof:Crissi Lanier, Andrea Beard and Keith Whaley set up a bar in the middle of their booth at GreenBuild in San Francisco last week, serving what appears to be LEED Platinum Cabernet. The booth used repurposed art deco furniture from BNB's 1355 Market Square project, home to Twitter's HQ, and more than 1,000 glasses from local, sustainable wineries were poured during BNB-hosted happy hour.
