In the midst of this blizzard last week, we asked you to ID the five-ton sculpture above in exchange for free Bisnow event tickets (mark your calendars for Feb. 22, W Hotel). And then we sweetened the deal : the first reader to get us a pic of the sculpture in the snow also wins a pair of tix. Above, is the first winner, marketing firm Red Propeller?s Jessie Culbert, who wrote: ?At my office we have 100% attendance, 75% Sorel boot wearers. We're having a good time with the snow!? In the end, everyone who accepted our challenge got tickets. (It was really deep snow.)

We received such an overwhelming response, this week, we're pleased to introduce the flower pot?s creator, Seattle artist Ginny Ruffner who sculpted the 27-foot kinetic work for the Seattle Sheraton Hotel. (Props to Bisnow reader Barbara Travers, a friend of Ginny's, who also ID?d the statue.) Ginny conceived of "The Urban Garden" back in 2004, but the sculpture was not finished and installed until last summer, when it was inaugurated in style by a flash mob performing to Where's the Sunshine on rain-speckled pavement. "It was a test of my persistence," says Ginny. The bluebells open and close, the watering can tilts and viewers can look inside the sculpture through a small window in the flower pot.
