Seattle Ranks High on Overpriced List
Greater Seattle has come in at No. 16 in Forbes' annual ranking of the country's most overpriced cities. Median income here is a bit more than $86k/year, but if you want to buy a residence, the median price is $360k. That means that housing is affordable for only 51.2% of households (Honolulu is No. 1; housing is affordable there to 35% of households). This isn't a great list to be on, but it does tend to indicate that a lot of capital and high-end jobs have come to the Seattle area lately. [Forbes]
