Construction on 43-Story Civic Square to Begin Next Year
After an eight-year delay, construction is finally scheduled to begin next year on the 43-story Civic Square project in downtown Seattle.
Project developer Triad Capital Partners beat out other developers for the full block site in 2007. The project was derailed by the banking crisis that ground real estate development to a halt. The mixed-use tower will offer 600k SF of office, around 125 condos and retail space.
Triad faces a deadline of Dec. 31 to purchase the property from the city. Project financing has been arranged but full details have not been disclosed; Triad has said it has invested $15M for design and other work so far. International architecture firm Foster + Partners is handling design for the project. [PSBJ]
