Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Leaving South Lake Union Building
Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, formerly Group Health Cooperative (Kaiser's $1.8B acquisition of Group Health was finalized recently), is planning to leave the Westlake Terry building by the end of this summer, the Puget Sound Business Journal reports. The company's lease is about to end, and the space will be occupied in the near future by Amazon, which has absorbed a lot of square footage in South Lake Union lately. Kilroy Realty owns the 275k SF property.
Some of Kaiser's workers will move to Two Union Square, while others will go to the health system's new facility in Renton. The Renton property, which is still under construction, will have about 2,250 employees by the end of the summer. It comprises two buildings on the former Longacres horse-racing track.
