Russell Investments Center Owner Wins 2018 Energy Star Award
CommonWealth Partners LLC recently received the 2018 Energy Star Partner of the Year award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The award reflects the company’s reduced energy use, building operating costs and carbon emissions from across its entire office portfolio, which includes Russell Investments Center in Seattle and City Center Plaza in Bellevue.
“We are ardent advocates for sustainable building operations because they allow our tenants to enjoy healthier workplaces and reduced costs while also achieving superior results for our investors,” CommonWealth Partners Executive Vice President Travis Addison said in a statement. “Equally important for all of us, we are contributing toward healthier communities for future generations.”
The company’s energy-reduction highlights include cutting energy consumption by 20%, cutting the energy use by 2,745 megawatt hours while increasing occupancy, earning an average Energy Star score of 88 on the benchmarked properties and reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions by 2,253 tons — which is equivalent to removing 437 passenger vehicles from the road for one year.
