Jimi Hendrix Park Finally Realized
The City of Seattle inked a deal with ERRG Inc. to build out Jimi Hendrix Park four years after the park was announced and 45 years after the death of the famed guitarist. The first phase of the development will include a grand entrance at the southeast corner of the park, a chronological timeline of Hendrix's life and career, a butterfly garden, rain gardens and a performance plaza. Work is expected to begin next month, with completion in the fall, reports Curbed Seattle. The Friends of Jimi Hendrix Park and the Jimi Hendrix Park Foundation raised over $1M to redevelop the park.
