Retail Red Hot in '15
Seattle’s a hot city with an expanding retail market, with stores eager to serve a growing population of high-income professionals. That’s why we’re excited to present Bisnow's Seattle Retail: Hot Spots, Big Players & New Designs at the Four Seasons Seattle on Jan. 9, starting at 7:30am. Register here.
Among our speakers, Downtown Works principal Midge McCauley (snapped with her dog Ace), tells us that 2015 should be an excellent year for Seattle retail. Retail streets in hot cities are in high demand, and if there’s an issue in the retail market, it will be that Seattle lacks a lot of available retail space on its important streets. With a focus on retail, Downtown Works consults for large urban markets, smaller business-improvement districts and private developers.
Midge adds that retailers are eager to locate or expand here. “As we contact retailers about their expansion plans, Seattle is on the list,” she says. “We’re looking for high-quality retailers who have yet to enter this market, and those that we’ve identified and contacted love Seattle.” Downtown, in particular, is going to be a hot retail market, as it's the highest-performing urban center in the Pacific Northwest. Among other organizations, the Alliance for Pioneer Square hired Downtown Works to help with its retail revitalization.
