How Washington State Initiatives Turned Out
Besides the high-profile races settled yesterday, local measures were up for a vote, including those affecting Seattle-area real estate.
Voters approved Proposition 1/Sound Transit 3 (ST3), Sound Transit’s $54B ballot measure to expand light-rail service in the Puget Sound region, at the cost of higher taxes.
Initiative 1433, a statewide proposal to raise the state minimum wage, also passed.
Initiative 732, a statewide carbon tax, did not pass.
In the City of Seattle, Initiative 124, which extends safety requirements to protect hotel workers from possible assaults, got an overwhelming go-ahead from voters.
