Seattle: Good Town for Football and Tech
Where’s the best city for football fans? Anywhere that has the Seahawks, of course. But WalletHub quantified that question and claims that Seattle’s No. 13 in the nation for football, based on a number of metrics, such as best-ever performing NFL teams (Seattle's tied with Boston for No. 2 in that, at least until this weekend); best performing college teams; most accessible stadiums; and the relative price of game tickets. Green Bay came in at No. 1, while Las Vegas was dead last (No. 142).
WalletHub also ranks STEM cities in the nation—and Seattle’s No. 6, which is bound to be good news for landlords eager to lease space to the up-and-coming crop of STEM-based companies. Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue’s No. 3 in the percentage of all workers in STEM jobs, and No. 8 in STEM employment growth, along with the annual median wage growth for STEM workers. The region’s No. 9 in the projected number of STEM jobs needed by 2018.
