Microsoft Buys 65 Acres In North San Jose
Microsoft purchased 65 acres along Silicon Valley's State Route 237 for $73.2M from a group of families affiliated with Cilker Orchards. The land along Alviso Milpitas Road next to Coyote Creek in North San Jose could be used as a light industrial center with a data center, the Mercury News reports. The project could bring hundreds of jobs to North San Jose.
Two options are on file for this piece of land that could result in 1.2M SF of light industrial or a 437K SF data center and 728K SF of light industrial. Microsoft has yet to decide which option it would like to pursue.
Google and Adobe already have expansion plans for Downtown San Jose. Microsoft currently has a presence in Mountain View in an office complex at La Avenida Street.
