Major Multifamily Project in Tech Happy Mountain View Breaks Ground
UDR-Domain Mountain View broke ground yesterday and we chatted with C.W. Driver NorCal project director Chris Graber to get the latest on the development.
Chris (snapped here trekking in the Nepalese Himalaya), who is overseeing construction, tells us the project will have 140 apartment units, 15 two-story townhomes and 4,400 SF of retail. The development will include a ground-level courtyard with a swimming pool and spa, outdoor dining area and fireplace lounge area. The Steinberg Architects-designed project got started yesterday and will wrap up in January 2017.
The project at 1984 West El Camino Real, rendered above, was approved by the city in late 2013 and replaces a shuttered motor inn. Chris also is a world traveler when it comes to construction projects, and told us about some of his favorites, which includes working on Lights! Camera! Action! Hosted by Steven Spielberg, a show attraction located in the New York zone of Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa. The 36-year-old tells us he'd love to meet the Dalai Lama and that summiting Mt. Vinson on Antarctica is on his bucket list. Already crossed off: being trained by Shaolin monks in China.
