Google Grabs Nearly 500K SF From Jay Paul
In an already active 2019, Google grabbed even more real estate than was previously thought.
In November, the search giant agreed to lease all 317K SF of 1020 Enterprise Way and most of the 317K SF 1050 Enterprise Way in Sunnyvale, the tech giant said Wednesday.
In all, Google's new lease comprises most of two buildings in Jay Paul Co.'s seven-building Moffett Towers campus, a 1.8M SF Class-A office complex in northern Sunnyvale.
The deal ranks as one of Silicon Valley's biggest leases last year, but not Google's biggest in 2019. It pre-leased 728K SF of office from developers Richard Peery and John Arrillaga on North San Jose's East Brokaw Road, the Silicon Valley Business Journal first reported in April.
Verizon's July pre-lease of 640K SF of Coleman Highline in North San Jose also has Google's most recent megadeal topped.
Tenants currently occupying Google's new space include GoDaddy and Microsoft, which has occupied 237K SF of 1020 Enterprise Way since 2012.
Google's Sunnyvale lease capped another busy year for the company in Silicon Valley real estate, highlighted by its unveiling of specifics of its Downtown West plan around San Jose's Diridon Station, as well as its many property acquisitions to make the plan a reality.
Moffett Towers consists of seven eight-story buildings and includes a 48K SF fitness center.
