Savills Studley Talks Tech, Tenant Amenities & 3D Printing

Amenity space now accounts for 40% to 50% of offices, as compared to 20% 10 years ago, according to execs at this month's Savills Studley inaugural Trailblazers Meeting in Silicon Valley. The three-day leadership summit, a year into the company merger, welcomed nearly 75 of the firm’s most promising individuals across the US to collaborate on company strategy and business innovation. Here are Savills Studley executive managing director and head of the firm’s San Jose office John Brady, president Michael Colacino and Savills chief executive Jeremy Helsby.

Here's John moderating an "All Things Tech" panel with Nate Currie, Joe Brady, Peter Hamann and Mike Mordaunt, all of the San Jose office. A hot topic was 3D printing, questioning whether printed replicas of space alternatives will replace the traditional building tour. Also on the discussion list: the impact of the Internet of Things on infrastructure and energy management. On the to-do list is how to address tech companies’ insatiable appetite for space, not only in Silicon Valley but in urban centers like Austin, S.F. and New York.
