Naftali Group Launches Viceroy-Branded Luxury Tower In Fort Lauderdale
Naftali Group is moving forward with a branded condo development in Fort Lauderdale even as a neighbor is attempting to block its plans.
In partnership with global hospitality brand Viceroy, Naftali has launched sales for its second residential project in South Florida, according to a release.
Naftali bought the site in 2022 for $20M and got approval from the Fort Lauderdale City Commission in 2023 for plans including two towers and 936 units, Bisnow previously reported.
The sales launch appears to be for just one of the towers, a 45-story branded condominium at 201 N. Federal Highway. New York City-based Naftali didn't respond to Bisnow’s request for comment.
The 370 luxury residences range from studios to four-bedroom units and exclusive penthouses, with Douglas Elliman in charge of sales and marketing. Amenities will span more than 25K SF and feature The Port Lounge & Bar, a game room, a karaoke room, arts and crafts areas, a spa and a fitness center.
However, DoveHill Capital Management founder Jake Wurzak, the developer behind the neighboring Dalmar Hotel, sued Fort Lauderdale over the approval, claiming it violated the city’s master plan, The Real Deal reported. The case is still pending. DoveHill Capital Management didn't respond to Bisnow’s request for comment.
Naftali is partnering with Miami-based architecture firm Arquitectonica and New York-based interior design firm Rockwell Group for the Viceroy Residences Fort Lauderdale, which will have designs inspired by the patterns of the sea and sand and the city’s yachting heritage, according to the release.
Viceroy is known for its hotels and residences in Portugal, Serbia, Mexico and the U.S. The Fort Lauderdale development is its second South Florida residential project, following the announcement of its Brickell residences in March. The Brickell location is set to feature 498 units across 45 stories and is being developed by Related Group and GTIS Partners.
The luxury brand launched its global rebrand initiative in November, centering its evolution around experiential storytelling with a focus on multisensory moments for an immersive experience for guests, Yahoo Finance reported.
“We are excited to collaborate with the Naftali Group, whose outstanding track record in luxury developments will not only enhance the residential offerings in Fort Lauderdale but help to ensure the lasting value of these Viceroy residences,” Viceroy President of Development Mark Keiser said in a statement.
The project is also Naftali's second in South Florida, following the launch of the 67-story JEM Private Residences in Miami Worldcenter.
