Italian Yacht-Maker The Latest To Lend Brand To Luxury South Florida Condos
A new yacht-branded tower is sailing into Fort Lauderdale.
Italian yacht manufacturer Riva will lend its brand to a 20-story luxury condominium building at 3019 Harbor Drive, developers Vertical Developments, WellDuo, and GCF Development announced Wednesday at a press conference during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Named Riva Residenze, the tower is planned to include 36 private residences with its own seven-slip private marina that can accommodate yachts as long as 65 feet, according to a release.
The units range from three-to-six bedrooms with two penthouses covering 8K SF. Sales have launched for units starting at $3.5M and are being led by Fortune International Group President Edgardo Defortuna.
Yacht designer Giuseppina Arena had a part in steering the interior design to represent superyacht aesthetics, per the release. The project, which was originally branded as Ocean Harbor, is the first joint development voyage for South Florida-based developers Fernando de Nunez of Vertical, Eduardo Pelaez Romer of WellDuo and Chip Abele of GCF, according to a release.
GCF acquired the site for over $11M in 2022, according to Broward County property records. The developers got approval for the building in January after proposing the 240-foot-tall building, which is double the 120-foot maximum standard for the Intracoastal Waterway, The Real Deal reported.
Miami-based Arquitectona designed the building, which a release called “The Superyacht of Waterfront Residences,” to face both the ocean and the waterway.
“The extensive development expertise of this team inspires us, and we believe this unique project fulfills a significant market demand for yacht-inspired luxury living in the Yachting Capital of the World," Defortuna said in the release.
Amenities for the building span 20K SF and include a Techno Gym fitness center that features a yoga and pilates studio, outdoor fitness lawn and spa amenities. Outside, the developers plan to build a 75-foot lap pool with private cabanas and a rooftop sky lounge with an infinity pool, private lounges and ocean views.
The in-house marina, in addition to the yacht slips, offers outdoor lounging space, a surf room for wet and dry storage, and a private dining area.
The Riva shipyard was originally founded in 1842 by Pietro Riva in Italy and was family-owned until Carlo Riva sold the company to the Ferretti Group in the 1970s. Today, Riva is known for its high-end superyachts — it just revealed its biggest model yet last month, a 230-foot behemoth dubbed the Riva 70 Metri.
“Riva has been more than simply a boat brand, representing a world of beauty and style that has inspired design, fashion and lifestyle choices,” Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi said in a statement. “The quality and focus on detail that have made Riva famous are unique and universal characteristics that increase the value and appeal of every living space."
