Post Brothers is hosting this year’s Bisnow Multifamily Annual Conference East at Universal North, located in the DuPont Circle neighborhood of Northwest Washington D.C. The nationally known, large-scale multifamily real estate owner and developer officially entered the D.C. market this year with its $228MM acquisition of Universal North and South, two Class B office buildings totaling nearly 660,000 square feet that the firm will convert into $700MM worth of rental apartments. Post Brothers views the Northwest D.C. market as a major residential opportunity. The Universal North and Universal South acquisition was driven by the city’s strong fundamentals and capacity for adaptive reuse, offering stable rental prices, housing demand, and unique zoning laws that support office conversions over new high-density construction.

Post Brothers’ completed development will boast over 600 residences, more than 650 parking spaces, and over 45,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. The firm has been a leader in adaptive reuse over its 16+ year history, experience that’s highly advantageous when reimagining D.C.’s underutilized office assets. The completed residential project in the highly-coveted neighborhoods of Dupont Circle and Kalorama will feature a world-class amenity package rivaling premium five-star hotels.
