Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Brussels Airport Co-Owner, ‘Deeply Saddened’
Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, owner of a 39% stake in Brussels Airport, said it's “deeply saddened and shocked” by Tuesday’s terrorist attacks, which included suicide bomb blasts at the airport’s departure terminal. “Our thoughts are with all of those that have been affected,” the pension fund said in a statement, noting it’s in close contact with the airport and Belgium’s government, and providing “whatever support we can.” OTPP acquired its interest in the airport in 2011; co-shareholders include Macquarie European Infrastructure Funds and the Belgian state.
